The First Presbyterian Church of Belmar was founded in 1877 by 8 people who
had a dream of organizing a Presbyterian Church in our community, called
at that time Ocean Beach, NJ. Through the years church membership
prospered and in the 1950's a vision for a new sanctuary became a
reality.
Our picturesque colonial style sanctuary was dedicated on March 20, 1960.
The 1980's saw additional growth for our church and physical plant. An
updated kitchen was installed in 1981 and the Christian Education wing
was erected in 1985.
